Jay and Chicka explore establishing the "Word for the Year" as the foundation in prayer and petition for 2023.
Let us be thankful to God for Jesus Christ, the only foundation which he has laid, and for the abundant evidence which he has given us of the di|vinity of his character, the perfection of his righ|teousness, the acceptance of his sacrifice, the preva|lence of his intercession, and the future glory of his kingdom. Let us build our faith, hope, profession, obedience, and experience on Him as our foundation. We must not pretend to hold the foundation unless we are building thereon; for a foundation is of no use but to build upon. Having begun at the proper foundation, let us be careful that our structure consists of the best materials and avoid, as much as possible, all impure and pe|rishable mixtures. And if we are building on this foundation, we shall have all his glorious perfections engaged for us; his wisdom to direct us, his righ|teousness to justify us, his power to defend us, and his grace to bestow on us a full reward—when he "shall be revealed from heaven in flaming fire." Then, our building, though imperfect, will abide the trial, all our errors and infirmities will be purged away, and our virtuous habits will be carried to perfection. Amen

It seems as if someone is offended about something whenever you turn around. Whether it is said or done, hordes of people are constantly becoming offended by something these days. In a world of safe spaces and people that are offended at the drop of a hat, Jay and Chicka discuss the idea of becoming un-offendable.

Recapping the stages of masculinity, which are all present to some degree at any period in a man’s life, and they all come together to make a whole and holy man.
You are the son of a kind, strong, and engaged Father, a Father wise enough to guide you in the Way, generous enough to provide for your journey, offering to walk with you every step. This is perhaps the hardest thing for us to believe – really believe, down deep in our hearts, so that it changes us forever, changes the way we approach each day

Sage stage (60ish and beyond) — The silver-haired sage steps aside to let younger men carry the load, but he’s sought after for his wisdom and counsel. His kingdom may shrink — the kids have left the house, so that he might move into something smaller. He steps down from his role as president, and his income may shift to savings and investments made while he was king. But his influence ought to increase. This is not the time to pack off to the highlight of the twighlite or Leisure World — the kingdom needs him now as an elder at the gates. He might, in fact, be an elder in his church or serve on the board of education. His time is spent mentoring younger men, especially kings, as Merlin mentored Arthur as Paul mentored Timothy.

King. Whatever we have control over we need to exercise self-control, patient work ethic of service. The LEADER serves and if the LEADER doesn’t they are easily abusing power. God wants to entrust us with His power, kingdom and all his work, but we are often unprepared or unable to take on the pressures of the service HE DESIRES TO GIVE US. A true leader NEVER Lords it over, but Lords it under–figuring out how to do whatever they can to bless the group.
